Adjust 40K User Guide — Setup to First Pull

Adjust devices arrive vape-ready out of the box — no priming, no filling, no setup screen. The guide below covers activation, the coolness slider on MyCool, USB-C charging, and the four things that usually trip first-time buyers.

Step 1 — Activate the device

Take the device out of the foil sleeve. There's no power button — Adjust Vape uses draw-activated firing across every one of its adjust flavors, which means the airflow sensor inside the mouthpiece detects suction and fires the coil automatically. To activate it the first time:

  1. Peel the silicone airflow plug off the bottom (small black rubber tab, lifts off with a fingernail).
  2. Take a slow, steady pull on the mouthpiece for 2–3 seconds. The LED on the side will glow during the pull.
  3. That's the activation. Subsequent pulls just work — no plug to remove again, no priming.

The first 2–3 puffs may be lighter on flavor than later sessions; this is the coil saturating with e-liquid. By puff 5 the flavor is at full strength.

Step 2 — Tune the coolness (MyCool 40K only)

This is the feature that makes MyCool different. The coolness slider lives on the side of the device — a small ridged switch you slide with your thumb. There are five detents:

  • Level 1 — Subtle: Almost no menthol. The flavor (Watermelon, Mango Magic, etc.) lands fruit-forward with just a soft chill on exhale. Good entry point for first-time vapers.
  • Level 2–3 — Balanced: Moderate menthol layer. Where most vapers settle after the first hour with the device. The chill is present but doesn't overpower the underlying flavor.
  • Level 4 — Cold: Strong menthol. The fruit notes get partially muted by the chill; this is "ice rush" territory.
  • Level 5 — Full Arctic: Maximum menthol. Most vapers find this overwhelming for full sessions; it works for short hits when you want a brain-freeze kick.

The slider can be adjusted mid-session — flavor changes immediately on the next pull. There's no reset; whatever level you leave it on is where it starts next time.

MyRusher and MySour don't have this slider. MyRusher tunes airflow tightness (built-in, not adjustable post-purchase); MySour ships with a fixed coolness level appropriate to the sour-candy profile.

Step 3 — Charging

The battery isn't sized to deliver all 40,000 puffs on a single charge — it'd make the device pocket-unfriendly. Expect to charge it roughly every 4,000–6,000 puffs, which works out to once every 3–5 days for a typical user.

Charging works with any standard USB-C cable. The port is on the bottom of the device. Plug it into a phone charger, a laptop USB-C port, or a power bank. A full charge takes about 45 minutes. The LED is solid while charging and turns off when full.

You can vape while it's charging — the firmware shares power between charging and coil firing without issue. Don't leave it on charge unattended overnight; standard lithium-battery rule.

Step 4 — Know your battery indicators

The LED on the side communicates state without screens:

  • Green pulse during pull: Normal operation, battery normal.
  • Yellow pulse during pull: Battery under 30% — charge soon.
  • Red flash during pull: Battery under 10% — charge now.
  • Red flash, no pull: Either short circuit or coil at end-of-life. Stop vaping, unplug if charging, contact support.
  • No LED, no pull: Battery dead or pod empty. Plug in to charge; if charging doesn't bring the LED back, the device is end-of-life (40K puffs hit) or defective.

Five things that trip first-time buyers

  1. Forgetting to remove the airflow plug. The device won't fire if the small silicone plug on the bottom is still in place. First-pull-doesn't-work is almost always this.
  2. Pulling too hard. Adjust uses MTL (mouth-to-lung) airflow, not DTL (direct-to-lung). Take slow, gentle draws — about the same intensity as drinking through a thick straw. Pulling like you're hitting a sub-ohm tank floods the coil and creates a burnt taste.
  3. Cold sessions on full coolness. If you set the slider to Level 5 and chain-vape for 10 minutes, the menthol can overwhelm the flavor and feel "wrong." Roll down to Level 2 and the flavor will return.
  4. USB-C debris. Lint and pocket dust collect in the charging port. If the device won't charge, look at the port with a phone flashlight; if it looks cluttered, clean with a toothpick (gently — don't damage the pins).
  5. End-of-life confusion. When the coil locks at 40,000 puffs the device stops firing entirely. This isn't a defect — the firmware enforces the puff cap. The LED stays off, charging won't revive it. Time for a new device.
